Aditya Group of Institutions (AGI) proudly celebrated Founders Day on 2nd July 2025 at the Aditya College of Engineering and Technology (ACET) Campus, Yelahanka, Bengaluru. The event marked a moment of reflection on AGI’s legacy, values, and vision for the future.

The grand occasion was graced by several distinguished dignitaries who shared their insights through thought-provoking and inspiring speeches. Their presence added immense value to the celebration.

The Founders Day Celebration of 54th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.A. Vishwanath a Visionary leader who is driving the AGI’s dedication to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and holistic development. It was a day of pride, inspiration, and renewed commitment to shaping future-ready students rooted in values.

Overview

To commemorate Founder’s Day and National Doctor’s Day, the Department of Pharmacy Practice, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of ABIPER (Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education & Research) and in association with SPARSH Hospital, Yelahanka, successfully organized a Free Health Check-up & Blood Donation Camp on 1st July 2025.

The event, held at the Aditya National Public-School Ground, was conducted under the theme “A Day Dedicated to Your Health and Well-Being”, aiming to promote preventive health, early screening, and healthcare accessibility among the community.

Objectives of the Program

  • To celebrate Founder’s Day and Doctor’s Day with a socially impactful initiative.
  • To provide free and accessible healthcare services to the local public.
  • To expose Pharm.D students to real-world clinical practice and interprofessional collaboration.
  • To raise awareness on the importance of preventive healthcare and early diagnosis.
  • To encourage voluntary blood donation and promote community wellness.

Healthcare Services Provided

The camp offered comprehensive, free-of-cost healthcare services, including:

✅ GRBS (Blood Sugar Testing)

✅ Electrocardiogram (ECG)

✅ Weight & BMI Check

✅ Eye Check-up

✅ Dental Screening

✅ Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Test

✅ Voluntary Blood Donation Drive

Participation and Highlights

  • 300+ beneficiaries from the local community, students, and staff availed health services.
  • Pharm.D students and faculty from the Department of Pharmacy Practice were actively involved in:
    • Patient registration and counseling
    • Clinical support and data documentation
    • Educating the public on medication use and chronic disease prevention
  • The event enabled practical application of classroom knowledge in areas like pharmacoeconomics, epidemiology, outcomes research, and public health communication.
  • NSS volunteers played a crucial role in organizing, crowd management, and post-event feedback collection.

As part of our Founders’ Day celebration, observed as “Do Good Day”, Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER), is privileged to extend its support and care to Kritagyata Trust, 2nd main road,11th Cross Road kogilu, cross, Maruthi Nagar, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560064 (School for children to empower, engage and educate children and women from lower sections of the society, so that they can stand up for themselves and find their voice), on 28th June 2025.
The staff of ABIPER distributed grocery items and stationery to children.
On this meaningful occasion, we distributed necessities to the children, aiming to bring smiles to their faces and contribute to their well-being.
The team Kritagyata Trust showed their gratitude by praying to God to shower their abundant blessings on our chairman Dr.B.A.Vishwanath, on his upcoming Birthday.
We thank everyone who contributed to making this a stark reminder of the importance of gratitude and look forward to continuing such good deeds in the future.

A seminar titled “Pedagogy Research and Science Communication: A Pertinent Need for Socratic Learning” was organized by Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER) on 27th June 2025. The event emphasized the importance of integrating research-based pedagogy with effective science communication strategies to foster critical thinking and inquiry-based learning, inspired by the Socratic method. Experts from academia shared insights on modern teaching approaches, student engagement, and the role of dialogue in education. The seminar concluded with an interactive session highlighting the need for continuous innovation in teaching methodologies to enhance scientific temper among learners.

Understanding the Mind’ s Decline” was conducted by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Bangalore (Urban) Local Branch in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy Practice and NSS Unit of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research. The event aimed to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias among students and faculty members.Dr. Suresh V C served as the resource person and delivered an insightful session that addressed the fundamental differences between the brain and the mind, setting the foundation for a deeper understanding of cognitive disorders. He clarified that dementia is not a natural part of healthy aging and discussed its increasing prevalence, particularly in aging populations. The session highlighted reversible causes of dementia, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and intervention. Dr. Suresh also elaborated on both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment strategies, focusing on the multidimensional approach required for effective dementia care. A significant portion of the talk was dedicated to the challenges faced by caregivers, acknowledging the emotional and physical burden associated with long-term care. The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which participants had the opportunity to interact directly with the speaker and clarify their doubts. The event was well-received by attendees and contributed to enhancing awareness and understanding of dementia, reinforcing the importance of timely intervention, caregiver support, and interdisciplinary management.

Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER) organized drug awareness program. which was held on 23/6/2025.
The main agenda of this program is to educate students about the carcinogenicity of substances and its consequences.

The program increased awareness, promoted healthy lifestyle choices, and fostered a supportive community. Students gained valuable knowledge, contributing to a positive campus environment. The initiative encouraged students to prioritize their well-being and seek help when needed. The program successfully promoted a healthy and safe campus, empowering students with knowledge to make informed choices. Students left with a better understanding of substance abuse risks and resources available for support.

Objectives: To spread awareness about the importance of yoga amongst faculty and students.

International Day of Yoga, celebrated annually on June 21st, highlights the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of practicing yoga. It was first proposed by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 and has since been globally recognized. The day aims to raise awareness about the many health benefits of yoga and promote its widespread practice as a means of achieving overall well-being. The resource person highlighted about importance of yoga in our lives. Yoga holds significant importance due to its comprehensive benefits for physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Physical Health – Yoga postures (asanas) improve flexibility, strength, and balance. They promote better posture and alignment, enhancing overall physical fitness and reducing the risk of injuries.

Mental Well-Being – Practicing yoga helps reduce stress and anxiety by promoting relaxation and mindfulness. Techniques like deep breathing (pranayama) and meditation calm the mind, improve focus, and enhance mental clarity.

Emotional Balance – Yoga encourages self-awareness and introspection, fostering emotional stability and resilience. It can help manage mood swings, depression, and other emotional challenges.

Spiritual Growth – For many, yoga is a spiritual practice that deepens their connection to themselves and the world around them. It can promote a sense of inner peace, contentment, and spiritual fulfilment.

Holistic Healing – Yoga is often used as a complementary therapy for various medical conditions such as hypertension, chronic pain, insomnia, and cardiovascular disease. It complements medical treatments by addressing both physical and psychological aspects of health.

Lifestyle Benefits: Regular yoga practice encourages healthier lifestyle choices, including a better diet, improved sleep patterns, and increased physical activity.

Community and Social Connection -Yoga classes provide opportunities for social interaction and community support, contributing to overall well-being.

Overall, yoga is valued not only for its physical benefits but also for its profound impact on mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life, promoting a balanced and harmonious existence.The resource person highlighted the difference between yoga and yogasan. She talked about different aspects of Yoga. She emphasized breathing exercises and meditation. The workshop started with a warm-up exercise.  Her guided meditation was a wonderful experience for all the participants. The attendees were relaxed, calm, and peaceful after the yoga session.

World Environment Day Celebration at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER) was held with great enthusiasm to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainability. The event commenced with a welcome speech by Dr. B.A. Vishwanath, Chairman, Aditya Group of Institutions, highlighting this year’s global theme: “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration.”

A variety of activities were organized to engage students and staff, including:

  • Tree Plantation Drive – Participants planted saplings around the campus, symbolizing a commitment to a greener future.
  • Eco-Awareness Rally – Students marched with creative placards and slogans promoting environmental consciousness.
  • Poster and Essay Competitions – Focused on the importance of biodiversity, conservation, and climate action.
  • Guest Lecture – An insightful talk by [insert name], an environmentalist, emphasizing sustainable living and responsible resource use.

The event concluded with a Green Pledge, where all attendees vowed to contribute to a healthier planet through daily actions and mindful choices.

On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Bengaluru (Urban) Local Branch, in association with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER), organized a Blood Pressure Screening and Awareness Talk on 21st May 2025. The event was held at ABIPER from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and focused on the theme: “Measure your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer.” The awareness talk was delivered by Dr. Shobha Rani R H and Dr. Manasa Rekha, who highlighted the importance of accurate blood pressure measurement, early diagnosis, and lifestyle changes in preventing hypertension-related complications. The screening activity was actively supported by student volunteers, who measured blood pressure for all participating faculty and non-faculty members of the pharmacy department. The event not only promoted awareness but also provided a hands-on learning opportunity for students, reinforcing their role in community health initiatives.

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide. Women’s Day was first observed on February 28, 1909, in New York. At 1910 International Women’s Conference, March 8 was suggested to be observed as International Women’s Day. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations. International Women’s Day was celebrated by Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER), Yelahanka, Bangalore on 14th March 2025.
International Women’s Day 2025 theme was “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment”.
