6th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2026

Department of Pharmacy Practice, Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER) successfully organized the 6th National Pharmacovigilance Week from 21st to 23rd September 2026 on the theme “Promoting Rational Use of Medicines through Pharmacovigilance – A Step Towards Safer Healthcare.” The programme commenced with an inaugural session, Pharmacovigilance Oath, and an expert guest lecture on establishing Pharmacovigilance centres. Students actively participated in awareness activities including a slogan competition and oral presentations on adverse drug reaction (ADR) case studies. Day 2 featured a pharmacovigilance awareness rally from the ABIPER campus to Kogilu Cross, promoting ADR reporting and medication safety among the public. On Day 3, 6th-year Pharm.D students presented an engaging street play highlighting rational medicine use and ADR reporting. An essay competition encouraged students to express their understanding of pharmacovigilance and patient safety. The valedictory function recognized winners, volunteers, and participants through prize and certificate distribution. The week-long celebration enhanced awareness of pharmacovigilance, rational medicine use, and patient safety while reinforcing the role of future pharmacists in promoting safer healthcare practices.
