Department of Pharmacology, Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education &Research (ABIPER)   organized an interactive Guest Lecture on the topic “Cell Lines in Advanced Biomedical Research” on 23^rd March 2024 at  ABIPER Seminar Hall. The main objective was to provide an opportunity for students and researchers to conduct basic research, effectively investigate diseases, and develop new drugs or vaccines. Resource Person, Dr.Rajendra Sandur, started the session with basic cell culture techniques, including cell harvesting, subculturing, seeding, cryopreservation, transfections, cytotoxicity assays, and immunofluorescence. The session was very interactive, and students participated enthusiastically. The session was concluded by a Question-and-Answer round in which students interacted with Dr. Rajendra followed by a vote of thanks by Dr.Amit Kumar Das, Principal, ABIPER. As per the feedback received from the participants, it was an excellent learning experience, and the lecture helped them understand the importance of determination in career enhancement.

Topic: Nanoformulation in Novel Drug Delivery & Career Opportunities in Abroad and in India

Department of Pharmaceutics, Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education & Research (ABIPER)   organized an interactive Guest Lecture on “ Nanoformulation in Novel Drug Delivery & Career Opportunities in Abroad and in India”  on 22 ^th  March 2024 at  ABIPER Seminar Hall. Guest Speaker, Dr.M.Sunitha Reddy stressed the development and utilization of nanotechnology-based formulations for delivering therapeutic agents and explored on various Career opportunities in the field of nanoformulation and novel drug delivery both in India and abroad. Around 87 participants comprising students of different UG & PG programs along with the faculty members attended the lecture, and all the queries put forward by the audience were categorically addressed by the expert. The audience found it was very informative and quite relevant to their subjects. The lecture was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B.A. Vishwanath, Chairman, Aditya Group of Institution.

Resource Person, Mr.C.S.Mujeebuddin delivered the presentation on the current status of Clinical Research and advanced technology for Clinical Research in India and also told in detail about the various fields of clinical research in which the Pharm.D  and B.Pharm graduates have placement opportunities. Topic: Awareness program on kidneys

World Kidney Day is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of our kidneys. Pharmacy Practice Department of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research, Yehalanka, organized an awareness program to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

OBJECTIVES:

• Raise awareness about our kidneys. Highlight that diabetes and high blood pressure are key risk factors for Kidney Disease.
• Encourage systematic screening of all patients with diabetes and hypertension for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
• Encourage preventive behaviours.
• Educate and create awareness among all Adolescents, Adults, and Elderly people about their key role in detecting and reducing the risk of CKD, particularly in high-risk populations.
• Stress the important role of local and national health authorities in controlling the CKD epidemic.

Indian Pharmaceutical Association Bangalore (Urban) Local Branch organized National Pharmacy Education Day 2024 on 6^th March 2024 in the college auditorium.

The theme for National Pharmacy Education Day 2024 is “Leveraging Synergism: Industry-Academia Partnership for the Implementation of National Education Policy’ for its students”.
