Department of Pharmacology, Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education &Research (ABIPER) organized an interactive Guest Lecture on the topic “Cell Lines in Advanced Biomedical Research” on 23rd March 2024 at ABIPER Seminar Hall. The main objective was to provide an opportunity for students and researchers to conduct basic research, effectively investigate diseases, and develop new drugs or vaccines. Resource Person, Dr.Rajendra Sandur, started the session with basic cell culture techniques, including cell harvesting, subculturing, seeding, cryopreservation, transfections, cytotoxicity assays, and immunofluorescence. The session was very interactive, and students participated enthusiastically. The session was concluded by a Question-and-Answer round in which students interacted with Dr. Rajendra followed by a vote of thanks by Dr.Amit Kumar Das, Principal, ABIPER. As per the feedback received from the participants, it was an excellent learning experience, and the lecture helped them understand the importance of determination in career enhancement.

Resource Person, Dr.Sriram Shanmugam, Professor & Head, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Science College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, started the session with fictional case scenarios used to illustrate modern professional dilemmas and to promote reflection on the complex interacting factors that influence professional practice and clinical decision-making. The session was very interactive, and students participated enthusiastically. Guest Speaker, Dr.M.Sunitha Reddy stressed the development and utilization of nanotechnology-based formulations for delivering therapeutic agents and explored on various Career opportunities in the field of nanoformulation and novel drug delivery both in India and abroad. Around 87 participants comprising students of different UG & PG programs along with the faculty members attended the lecture, and all the queries put forward by the audience were categorically addressed by the expert. The audience found it was very informative and quite relevant to their subjects. The lecture was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B.A. Vishwanath, Chairman, Aditya Group of Institution.

Pharmacy Practice Department of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research, Yehalanka, organized an awareness program to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.
OBJECTIVES:

Indian Pharmaceutical Association Bangalore (Urban) Local Branch organized National Pharmacy Education Day 2024 on 6th March 2024 in the college auditorium.
The theme for National Pharmacy Education Day 2024 is “Leveraging Synergism: Industry-Academia Partnership for the Implementation of National Education Policy’ for its students”.

ABIPER in association with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association organized one-day workshop on ECG/EKG and its interpretation in association with Sankalpa Multi Specialty Hospital, JP Nagar Bengaluru on 26 February 2024 at ABIPER Seminar Hall. Dr Madan K, started the session with the basics of ECG, followed by electrophysiology of the heart and how to read ECG and interpret abnormalities. The session ended with an Interpretation of various cardiac diseases.

The Government of Karnataka hosted a two-day International Conference titled “ Constitution and National Unity” on 24 th and 25 th February, 2024, in Bengaluru, India to commemorate 75 years of the Indian Constitution. The conference was to focus on topics related to constitutionalism and social justice and aims to contribute to contemporary conversations on these critical themes. Pharm D Students along with the Staff, Mrs.Harshita Nehru, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics,ABIPER attended an international conference titled Constitutional and National Unity.
