Every year, the International FIP Congress is organized in a different city in the world,in collaboration with one of FIP’s member associations. Around 3000 pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists from over 100 countries take part in this premier international event, coming together to network, learn, discuss, and to share their experiences in the field of pharmacy. The 76th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences was held in Buenos Aires (Argentina),from 28 August – 1 September 2016.Students from ABIPER participated in the program this year. The theme of this year’s congress was “Rising to the challenge: reducing the global burden of disease”.

Guest Lecture on 25 February 2017
Guest Lecture is a way of creating awareness in students about advancements in the pharmaceutical industry, especially pertaining to technology. The students acquire an understanding about industry needs, latest technical updates, and avenues for higher education. Mr. Zaheer Abbas Senior Research Scientist – II at Apotex Research Private Limited, Bangalore, gave a very informative talk on “Evolution of pharmaceutical industry and its role in drug product development” in our college premises on 25-02-2017. Our students gained an insight into drug discovery and development, and benefitted immensely from this exposure to an industry perspective. The lecture by Mr. Abbas’s covered the spectrum of drug discovery, emphasizing on discovery, formulation, regulatory affairs, IPR, and clinical trials.
Dr. B.A. Vishwanath, Chairman, ABIPER, succinctly summed up the lecture, bringing to conclusion a very useful and interesting day for the staff and students.

RANGOLI COMPETITION
As part of the decennial year celebrations of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy and Education Research, the 55th National Pharmacy Week was organized from December 28-31, 2016 at the college premises. As a part of celebration, Rangoli competition was conducted on December 30 th . Rangoli is the representation religious and purification of the human spirit and also shows the eternal creativity of the person. The sole aim of organizing the rangoli competition is to provide a platform to the students to show their talent and creativity. Committee hosted the programme in which several groups participated, out of which three groups were selected and awarded prizes
A theme was posed with different colours by the students on the“Role of pharmacist in prevention and Management of Diabetes”

A One day hands-on Workshop
Our college staff attended one day workshop on “Effective Design of Experiments (DOE) in Pharmaceutical Formulation” held on 3rd Dec 2016 at IBIS Hotel, Bangalore. Dr.Praveen saligram, Director, Drug Development& Scientific Research at SPI Pharma delivered a talk on Quality by Design (QbD).
Annual Sports Meet 2016-2017
ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2016-17 was organized by Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research on 09-12-2016. Dr. T. Lingaraju, Deputy Director of Physical Education ULC, Bangalore University Bangalore was the chief guest of the programme. The chief guest’s inspirational speech motivated the students. Athletic events & other tournaments were conducted on the same day
Christmas & New Year Celebration 2016
Christmas & New Year was celebrated in a grand manner at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER) BANGALORE in the college premises. All the staff & students participated in the celebration. ABIPER students dressed as angels presented a dance with Santa Claus, followed by a dance by students. The Principal spoke about the purpose of birth of Jesus Christ and the presence of Santa Claus in Christmas .The New Year was celebration started with Cake cutting by honourable Chairman followed by a party and Photo session.
68 th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Vizag Dec 2016
The 68th edition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) was held at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh from 16th to 18th Dec-2016. The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) which was organized 68th edition which was the first mega event conducted on pharmaceuticals in the beach city of the Andhra Pradesh. The event highlights plenary lectures, symposia by eminent scientists, pharma expo, and placement conclave for students.
The core committee of the 68th IPC were Dr. Rao Vadlamudi, president, IPA; Dr. C Gopal Krishna Murty, past president and present advisory committee member, IPA; Subodh Priolkar, regional managing director, Colorcon Asia, and past president, IPA; Dr. JAS Giri, immediate past president, IPA; Dr. TV Narayana, chairman-Education Division, IPA and secretary, Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association; Kaushik Desai, Hon. general secretary, IPA; Jaipal Reddy, Central Executive Council member, IPA and chairman, St. Peters Institute of Pharm. Sciences, Hanamkonda, Andhra Pradesh; Dr. B Ganga Rao, Principal, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vizag and president IPA Vizag Local Branch and TB Nair, coordinator, IPA.
The organisers said that the 68th edition will attract not just the pharma industry but regulatory authorities, academia, research, hospital and community pharmacy personnel
