On the occasion of World Environment Day, a 5 km Walkathon was organized by the NSS Unit of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, on 5th June 2026 at 07:00 am to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students and the public.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of RGUHS, Dr. Bhagavan, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the collective responsibility of individuals in protecting nature for future generations. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members representing various institutions affiliated with RGUHS.
A total of 70 students and 3 faculty members from Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER) actively participated in the Walkathon. The students displayed great enthusiasm and commitment towards the cause of environmental protection and sustainability. Their active involvement reflected the institution’s dedication to promoting social responsibility and environmental consciousness among the student community.
The Walkathon served as a platform to spread awareness about environmental issues, climate change, pollution control, and the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life. Participants carried placards and slogans conveying messages on environmental protection and sustainable living.
The programme was successfully organized by the RGUHS NSS Unit and concluded with a pledge by all participants to contribute towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment.
