Maternal Mental Health Awareness Program

Department of Pharmacy Practice, ABIPER conducted “Maternal Mental Health Awareness Program” on 21^st May 2024 at General Hospital, Yelahanka in association with Rotary Bangalore Northwest focusing on Postpartum Depression.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Ganesh, Administrative Medical officer and fellow doctors of General Hospital, Yelahanka, Mrs. Parvathi Anand, President Rotary Bangalore North west and Mrs. Lakshmi Naveen, President, Rotary Bangalore Kalyan and Dr .ShobhaRani R H, Professor and Director, ABIPER and staff coordinators, Dr. Sangeetha S and Dr. Neena Priyamalar E M.

The program had a list of events that shine light on the importance of maternal mental health and specifically on postpartum depression. There was an awareness talk by Dr. ShobhaRani R H in Kannada to the community followed by an eye-opening skit performance by Pharm. D students. Simultaneously screening and education regarding postpartum depression care was done among the new mothers in the OBG ward. Awareness events were also carried out in the inpatient OBG ward to the new mothers and their families were educated by Dr. Sangeetha S and Dr. Neena Priyamalar E M with the help of counseling aids.
